ComfyUI in numbers, 2026
This address used to promise a creator survey. IImagined has not run one, so this page reports what can be checked instead: the project's own numbers on GitHub, the custom node registry, the requirements and prices Comfy Org publishes, and what the company has said about its users and funding. Each figure links to the page or API it was read from.
Reviewed against 13 sources. Each figure names its publisher, the date the publisher gives and the date we read it. Counts, prices and rules move, so open the linked page before you quote one.
The short version
ComfyUI had 137,099 GitHub stars and 159 published releases on 13 October 2026, 57 of them this year. The Comfy Registry lists 5,974 custom node packs. Comfy Org, the company behind it, said in April 2026 that its community spans 4 million users, and announced $30 million in funding at a $500 million valuation. The software is free under GPL-3.0. The paid part is Comfy Cloud, from $20 a month.

How to read this
There is no survey behind this page. It reports counters, documents and announcements that anyone can open and re-read, and it says which is which.
GitHub counts are live. Stars, forks and download counts were read on the date shown and will have moved since. A star takes one click and does not show that anyone still uses the software, so read it as interest, not as active use.
A pack is not a node. The registry and the Manager list count repositories, and one repository can add many nodes, so 5,974 packs and 60,000+ nodes can both be true.
Company figures are claims. The user count, the daily downloads and the valuation come from Comfy Org's own announcement and are labelled that way wherever they appear.
Requirements are what the project's documents say will work. They are not benchmarks, and a model that loads on 4GB of VRAM can still be slow.
What nobody has measured
How many people use ComfyUI
Comfy Org says 4 million users. The announcement does not define a user, and we found no independent count.
What hardware people run it on
We found no hardware survey or telemetry published by the project. The requirement figures are what the documents say will work, not what users own.
Speed by graphics card
The official pages give no generation time per card. Community benchmarks exist with settings that differ from post to post, so none is quoted here.
Who the users are
No source read for this page breaks ComfyUI users down by job, country or income. The page that used to sit at this address implied a creator survey; there was none.

137,099 on 13 October 2026, read through the GitHub REST API for Comfy-Org/ComfyUI, with 16,320 forks. The repository was created on 17 January 2023. The number rises daily, so treat it as a dated reading.
How many custom nodes are there for ComfyUI?
It depends on what you count. The Comfy Registry lists 5,974 node packs and the ComfyUI-Manager list has 6,014 entries; a pack can add many nodes. Comfy Org's April 2026 announcement says contributors have built 60,000+ nodes.
How much VRAM does ComfyUI need?
The README says it can run even the biggest open source models on as low as 4GB of VRAM with 8GB of RAM, by streaming model weights. Comfy Desktop asks for 8 GB of RAM, with 16 GB recommended.
