How the math works
Paying users = MAU x conversion % Stars rail = Paying users x Stars price x (1 - affiliate %) x payout per Star Fiat rail = Paying users x (price - price x provider % - fixed fee) Ads = MAU / 1,000 x your ad revenue per 1,000 MAU Net monthly = Payments net + Ads
Rules checked October 2026 against Telegram's Stars payments docs, Star subscriptions, Stars terms and affiliate programs. The payout per Star is not published on those pages; the $0.013 default is the commonly reported developer rate, so confirm yours.
Not included: refunds, churn between months, taxes, the 21-day withdrawal delay, and anything you spend on Telegram Ads. This is a planning model, not an income forecast; results depend entirely on your bot, audience and pricing.
FAQ
How is the revenue calculated?
Paying users = monthly active users x conversion rate. On the Stars rail, Stars earned = paying users x monthly price in Stars, minus any affiliate commission, then converted to dollars at your payout per Star. On the fiat rail, revenue = paying users x price, minus the payment provider's percentage and fixed fee per charge. Ad revenue is added on top as your share per 1,000 monthly users.
When do I have to use Stars instead of a card processor?
Telegram requires every payment for digital goods and services inside a bot, including subscriptions to content or AI features, to be made in Telegram Stars. Third-party payment providers are allowed only for physical goods and services. Pick the fiat rail only if that is what you sell; otherwise model the Stars rail.
What is a Star worth to the developer?
Telegram does not publish a fixed dollar rate on its developer pages. Bot owners and third-party guides commonly report about $0.013 per earned Star on withdrawal, which is the editable default here. Check the current rate on your bot's balance screen before you plan around it.
When can I withdraw Stars?
Telegram's terms make earned Stars eligible for withdrawal through Fragment 21 days after you receive them, with a minimum of 1,000 Stars per withdrawal. You can also spend them on Telegram Ads for your bot. Plan cash flow around that delay: month one's Stars are not cash in month one.
Where does the ad revenue number come from?
Telegram shares 50% of the revenue from ads shown in a bot's chat with the bot's developer, but what that earns depends on the audience and is not published per user. Leave it at zero until your own bot reports ad earnings, then enter your real figure per 1,000 monthly users.
Is the conversion rate realistic?
There is no published benchmark for Telegram bot conversion. The 2% default is an illustrative input, not a prediction. Use your own trial-to-paid rate once you have one, and run the calculator at a low, middle and high rate to see how sensitive the result is.
