No platform read for this page matches Fanvue's published acceptance of fully AI-generated creators posting adult content. OnlyFans and Fansly both rule a synthetic persona out. Patreon accepts AI personas on general-audience pages and only illustrated AI figures on adult pages. X and Instagram run subscription features with audience thresholds, and Ko-fi accepts AI work but no adult content. The realistic plan is one compliant main platform plus general-audience additions.
Short answer: for a fully AI-generated persona, there is no like-for-like Fanvue alternative in the six platforms read for this page. OnlyFans and Fansly both publish rules that exclude a synthetic persona, Patreon accepts one only as a general-audience creator or in an illustrated style, and X, Instagram and Ko-fi each cover part of the job. The realistic alternatives are additions around a compliant main account, and which ones fit depends on what the persona posts.

Words in double quotes are the platform's own. Platforms whose policy pages sit behind a login or an age gate were left out.
This page is about business and policy, for adults running a business. Several of these are 18+ platforms that check the identity of the person behind every creator account. I run a creator management agency, so choosing platforms by their written rules is the side of this business I see every day. Disclosure: IImagined's resources page links to Fanvue with a referral code that pays a commission, and this page uses Fanvue as the baseline, so weigh it with that in mind.
Six alternatives at a glance
| Platform | A fully AI-generated persona | Adult content from that persona | Platform cut |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fanvue (the baseline) | Accepted. "AI creators are a fully recognised and verified category on Fanvue." | Allowed, with disclosure and a verified account owner | Creator keeps 80% |
| OnlyFans | Not accepted. AI content is allowed only if "it clearly features the verified Creator". | Allowed for verified creators who appear in it | Creator keeps 80% |
| Fansly | Not accepted. Bans photorealistic content "substantially generated or created through artificial intelligence". | Allowed for human creators | Creator keeps 80% |
| Patreon | Accepted on Safe for All Audiences pages. On Adult/18+ pages, illustrated or animated figures only. | Illustrated or animated AI figures only | 10% platform fee on new pages, plus payment processing |
| X Subscriptions | No rule against it. The profile must not use a fake identity "intended to deceive others". | Allowed on X behind a content warning; monetization may be restricted | Up to about 97% after processing and app store fees |
| Instagram Subscriptions | Accepted with the AI-generated profile label; unlabelled profiles lose reach. | Not allowed. AI-generated nudity is removed. | Not stated on the eligibility page read |
| Ko-fi | AI content is not banned. It must not be passed off as human-made work. | Not allowed. "Do not use Ko-fi for illegal or adult content." | Not read for this page |
Read the second and third columns together. A platform can accept AI personas and refuse adult content (Instagram, Ko-fi), accept adult content and refuse AI personas (OnlyFans, Fansly), or split by visual style (Patreon).
OnlyFans: the biggest name, the clearest no
OnlyFans allows AI as a tool for a real creator, not as the creator. Content "generated, altered, or enhanced by AI" may be shared only if "it clearly features the verified Creator", and its creator guide lists "accounts or content that are wholly AI-generated" among content it removes. It also says it "does not offer an internal AI chatbot tool for Creators" and has no public API. If you appear in your own content and use AI to enhance it, OnlyFans is open to you on the same 80% share. The full comparison, with payout terms, is in Fanvue vs OnlyFans.
Fansly: photorealistic AI is written out of the terms
Fansly's Terms of Service, dated July 21, 2026, list among prohibited uses content that uses artificial intelligence in three ways: "photorealistic or lifelike content that is substantially generated or created through artificial intelligence, including deepfakes, face-swapped content, or synthetic media designed to appear as real humans"; content where AI systems "directly interact with Users to generate personalized responses, imagery, or experiences without human oversight"; and "any content that misrepresents AI-generated material as authentic human performance or creation".
That rules out a photorealistic persona and an unattended chatbot in one clause. The wording leaves non-photorealistic AI art unaddressed; if that is your plan, ask Fansly in writing before building on it.
Patreon: a strong home for a general-audience persona
Patreon is the one platform here with a published AI policy that accepts AI-generated people outright, on the right kind of page. On Safe for All Audiences pages, "AI-generated depictions of people are permitted as long as they do not contain nudity, sexual activity, or related adult/18+ material". On Adult/18+ pages, illustrated or animated AI figures are permitted, and "hyperrealistic depictions of people must use the likeness of real, adult humans who have documented their explicit consent".
Its fee is lower than the adult platforms: Patreon's standard plan for pages published after August 4, 2025 is a 10% platform fee plus payment processing. It suits a persona whose paid offer is behind-the-scenes posts, tutorials or digital products. We compare the two directly in Fanvue vs Patreon for AI influencers.
X and Instagram Subscriptions: where the audience already is
X. Subscriptions let followers pay monthly for extra posts. X says creators can earn "up to ~97% of the gross revenue earned from Subscriptions" and that it "does not take a revenue share", with deductions for payment processing and app store fees. The eligibility list is long: identity verification, a Premium subscription, "2,000 or more active followers with Premium subscriptions" and "5,000,000 or more organic impressions within the last 3 months". The profile must not use "a fake identity that is intended to deceive others", so a persona has to be openly AI. X allows adult content behind a content warning, but its Content monetization standards list adult content among categories that "may face restricted monetization".
Instagram. Subscriptions need a professional account with at least 10,000 followers, an owner aged 18 or older and compliance with the Community Standards, which remove AI-generated nudity. Instagram also expects a profile that features an AI-generated person to carry the AI-generated profile label, and says it will limit the reach of profiles that do not. Details are in our Instagram AI label rules guide.

Ko-fi: AI work is welcome, adult content is not
Ko-fi answers the AI question directly. Asked why it does not ban AI content, it says: "Rather than deciding which tools are acceptable, we focus on making sure all content on Ko-fi meets copyright law and our content guidelines." The condition is honesty: "Presenting AI-generated content as your own human-made work to potential buyers goes against Ko-fi's Terms and Conditions". Its guidelines also prohibit "AI-generated content that uses the likeness of celebrities or public figures for NSFW purposes".
On adult content the answer is no: the Content Guidelines, last updated 6th February 2024, say "Do not use Ko-fi for illegal or adult content." Ko-fi works for tips, memberships and shop sales around a general-audience persona.
What each platform asks before you can earn
| Platform | Entry requirements on its pages |
|---|---|
| OnlyFans | Identity documents and selfies at signup, then selfie checks on a rolling 45-day cycle. The verified creator must be in the content. |
| Fansly | Creator registration "approved by the Company in our sole and absolute discretion". The terms allow collection of biometric information from creators. |
| Patreon | Adult/18+ creators complete age verification. Other creators may be invited to verify identity. |
| X Subscriptions | 18 or older, identity verification, a Premium subscription, an account active for 3 months, 2,000 active Premium followers and 5,000,000 impressions in 3 months. |
| Instagram Subscriptions | 18 or older, a professional account with at least 10,000 followers, and compliance with the Community Standards and monetization policies. |
| Ko-fi | 18 or older to create an account. Payments run through PayPal or Stripe under their own rules. |
Sources as listed above, plus OnlyFans' verification page. In every case the checks are on you, the human owner. The persona is fictional; the account holder is not.
How to choose: start from the content, not the brand
- 1Write down what the persona posts
General-audience only, or adult content as well. This one answer removes most of the list.
- 2Decide the visual style
Photorealistic or illustrated. Patreon's adult rules and Fansly's terms both turn on it.
- 3Read the AI rule on each candidate
The sentence that says whether a creator may be wholly AI-generated. If you cannot find it, ask support in writing.
- 4Pick one main paid platform
The one whose written rules accept the persona as it is. Do not bend the persona to fit a bigger brand.
- 5Add general-audience surfaces
Instagram and X for reach, Patreon or Ko-fi for a second paid offer, each within its own rules.
- 6Re-read the rules monthly
Fanvue updated its guidelines on 12 October 2026 and Fansly its terms on July 21, 2026. Rules move.
A worked example with made-up choices: a photorealistic fictional persona that posts adult content cannot use OnlyFans, Fansly, Instagram Subscriptions or Ko-fi for that content, and cannot use a Patreon Adult/18+ page because it is not illustrated. Under the rules read here that leaves Fanvue for the paid account, X for labelled promotion, and Instagram for a clothed, labelled profile. Change one input, make the persona illustrated, and a Patreon Adult/18+ page opens up.
- Its policy accepts a fully AI-generated creator in writing, or support has confirmed it in writing
- The content you plan for it fits its adult content rule as well as its AI rule
- The AI disclosure is set up the way that platform asks
- No adult content is copied to a platform that does not accept it
- Links between platforms follow each platform's rule on linking out
- You can pass its identity check in your own name

Fanvue alternatives for AI creators: FAQ
What is the best Fanvue alternative for an AI creator?
It depends on the content. For a fully AI-generated persona posting adult content, none of the six platforms read for this page publishes rules that accept it the way Fanvue does. For a clothed, general-audience persona, Patreon accepts AI-generated depictions of people on Safe for All Audiences pages, and X and Instagram both run subscription features with audience thresholds. Treat them as additions to a compliant main account, not as like-for-like replacements.
Does Fansly allow AI-generated creators?
Not photorealistic ones. Fansly's Terms of Service, last updated July 21, 2026, say users must not post "photorealistic or lifelike content that is substantially generated or created through artificial intelligence, including deepfakes, face-swapped content, or synthetic media designed to appear as real humans". The same clause bars AI systems that interact with users without human oversight and AI material presented as authentic human work.
Does OnlyFans allow AI models?
Not wholly AI-generated ones. OnlyFans says AI content may be shared only if "it clearly features the verified Creator" and viewers can tell AI was used, and its creator guide lists "accounts or content that are wholly AI-generated" among content that cannot be shared. A real, verified creator who uses AI on their own content can post it with a label such as #ai.
Can I run an AI persona on Patreon?
Yes, as a general-audience creator. Patreon says that on Safe for All Audiences pages "AI-generated depictions of people are permitted as long as they do not contain nudity, sexual activity, or related adult/18+ material". On Adult/18+ pages only illustrated or animated AI figures are permitted, and hyperrealistic depictions must be of real, consenting adults.
Can an AI persona sell subscriptions on X?
The published rules do not rule it out, but the entry bar is high. X's Subscriptions policy requires identity verification, 2,000 or more active followers with Premium subscriptions and 5,000,000 organic impressions in the last 3 months. The profile must not use "a fake identity that is intended to deceive others", so the persona has to be openly AI.
Does Ko-fi allow AI content?
Yes for general-audience work, with honesty about how it was made. Ko-fi says it does not ban AI content and focuses on copyright and its content guidelines, and that presenting AI-generated content as human-made work breaks its terms. Its guidelines say "Do not use Ko-fi for illegal or adult content", so it is not a home for an adult persona.
Should I be on more than one platform?
Yes, for different jobs. A subscription platform whose rules accept the persona holds the paying relationship. Social platforms such as Instagram and X hold the audience, each under its own AI label and content rules. A second paid surface for general-audience content, such as Patreon, spreads the risk of one policy change. Never copy adult content to a platform whose rules do not accept it.
