Freepik AI for Personas: Bundle Math vs Kling and Flux

Freepik AI, now Magnific, priced against Kling and Black Forest Labs bought separately: credits, unlimited models and character tools for AI persona production.

Quick answer

Freepik AI is now Magnific: one subscription with shared credits for image, video and audio models, including Kling and FLUX.2, plus a LoRA-based Custom Characters tool. For a persona workload of hundreds of images and a few dozen clips a month, Premium+ usually costs less than a Kling plan plus FLUX API images, because most image models are unlimited. Buy Kling and Black Forest Labs separately if you need Kling's newest features first or produce very little.

Freepik AI, renamed Magnific in April 2026, is a single subscription that bundles image, video and audio models, including Kling and FLUX.2, behind one pool of credits, with unlimited image generation on selected models from the Premium+ plan up. For an AI persona that needs hundreds of images and a few dozen short clips a month, Premium+ usually works out cheaper than paying Kling and Black Forest Labs separately; for low volume or Kling-first video work, separate plans can still win.

Prices and features checked October 2026 on the Magnific pricing page, Magnific's plans and credits help articles, Kling AI's credit and plan guide, and Black Forest Labs' API pricing. All three companies say prices and credit costs can change without notice; recheck before you commit to an annual plan. Prices exclude VAT.

This page is about money and features, not image quality. We set out to add our own consistency tests of the same persona across the three routes; that testing is not done, so we have left it out rather than guess. What follows is the arithmetic from each company's official pricing, and what each one offers for keeping a character's face the same. If you are still at the stage of designing the persona itself, start with our complete guide to creating an AI influencer.

The verdict: when Freepik AI wins and when it does not

Pick Freepik AI (Magnific) Premium+ if
  • You make hundreds of persona images a month
  • You want Kling, FLUX.2, Seedance and others on one bill
  • Your clips are short and 720p or 1080p is enough
  • You want character training and video in one place
Pick Kling + Black Forest Labs if
  • You make few images and pay per image is cheaper
  • Video is most of your output and you want Kling features first
  • You need Kling Elements with voice binding
  • You are building your own app on the FLUX API

The reason the bundle often wins is one line on the pricing page: on Premium+ and Pro, most image models are unlimited and do not spend credits. For a persona account, images are the bulk of the work. Once images cost nothing extra, every credit goes to video.

Freepik AI vs Kling and Flux bought separately

Here is the head-to-head on the points that matter for persona production. Kling's figures come from its own plan guide; Black Forest Labs is the company behind FLUX, and its hosted API is the cleanest way to buy FLUX images on their own.

The bundle math for one persona month

To compare like with like, take one illustrative workload. These are inputs we chose for the example, not a recommendation or anyone's real numbers: 300 still images at about 1 megapixel and 40 five-second video clips a month, a plausible load for a persona posting daily with a few Reels a week.

On Magnific, FLUX.2 Pro at 1K is listed at 50 credits per image and marked unlimited (it is not on the list of models moving to credits), and Kling 3.0 Pro at 1080p is listed at 450 credits per 5 seconds. Premium's 240,000 yearly credits average 20,000 a month; Premium+'s 600,000 average 50,000. On the separate route, FLUX.2 [pro] is priced from $0.03 per megapixel, so 300 images is about $9, and Kling's guide translates each plan's credits into a count of 720p videos.

Illustrative workload. Magnific prices are the billed-annually monthly rates; Kling prices are the list prices its guide shows before first-month discounts. Kling's guide does not give a per-clip cost for Kling 3.0 Pro at 1080p, so the Kling rows use its own 720p reference counts. Checked October 2026.

Three things move this math. First, resolution: Magnific lists 4K images and 1080p video at higher credit costs, and BFL rounds resolution up to the next megapixel, so a 1920×1080 image is billed as 3MP. Second, retries: every rejected generation costs the same as a kept one, so a persona with a strict look burns more than the raw count suggests. Third, the unlimited list itself, covered below, which Magnific has already trimmed once. For Kling-heavy months, our breakdown of what an AI influencer costs to run puts these line items next to the rest of the stack.

What is the Freepik AI generator now?

The rebrand FAQ says Freepik became Magnific in April 2026 with the same company, team and accounts, and freepik.com now redirects to magnific.com. The AI image generator is a front end to many models at once: the pricing page lists Google Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana Pro, Seedream 5.0 Pro, FLUX.2 Pro and Max, Recraft, Ideogram, Grok and GPT image models, each with its own credit cost. On Premium+, Nano Banana 2 at 1K and more than 30 other models stay unlimited.

Plans and credits work like this, per Magnific's help center (checked October 2026):

  • Premium: $14.50 a month billed annually, 240,000 credits a year, no unlimited models.
  • Premium+: $33.75 a month billed annually ($45 shown for monthly billing), 600,000 credits a year or 45,000 a month, unlimited generation on selected models, extra credit packs available.
  • Pro Starter: $82.50 a month billed annually, 1.5 million credits a year, with a higher tier listed at 4 million.
  • Credit rules: annual plans get all credits upfront, monthly credits reset each cycle and do not roll over, and extra credits (Premium+ and Pro only) last three years but freeze if you cancel.

Can Freepik make a consistent character?

Yes, through Custom Characters, which Magnific describes as LoRA-based training inside its image generator. You upload 12 to 24 images of the character from different angles with a mix of expressions, train it, then generate new scenes, swap the face in with the Retouch tool, or use the images as start frames in the video generator. The pricing page lists training at 3,000 credits per character, so Premium+'s yearly pool covers a couple of hundred characters in theory; in practice you will train one persona a few times while you refine the dataset.

Custom Characters on Magnific, per its feature page
  1. 1
    Collect 12 to 24 images

Different angles and expressions, the same face, clean backgrounds.

  2. 2
    Train the character

3,000 credits per character on the current pricing page.

  3. 3

Keep the original look or apply a custom style.

  4. 4
    Generate scenes or swap faces

Use the image generator or Retouch for face swaps.

  5. 5
    Animate in the video generator

Use the character images as start frames.

The other two routes handle consistency differently. Kling's Elements and subject binding, per its own guide, build a character from up to four reference images or a 3 to 8 second video clip, and can bind a 5 to 30 second voice sample; each Kling plan caps how many elements you can create (50 on Standard, 150 on Pro and Premier, 500 on Ultra). Black Forest Labs takes reference images per request instead of a trained character: FLUX.2 [pro] and [max] accept up to 8 references through the API and 10 in its Playground, and fine-tuned FLUX.2 endpoints are in public beta. For the dataset side, which matters on every route, see our consistent character guide and the LoRA training guide for persona faces.

How does Freepik AI video work, and is Kling inside it?

Magnific's video generator runs third-party models on the same credits. The pricing page lists Kling 2.5 at 720p (140 credits per 5 seconds, unlimited all year on Premium+), Kling 3.0 Pro at 1080p (450 credits per 5 seconds), several Seedance, Wan and MiniMax models, Google Veo 3.1 with audio and others, plus a video upscaler (checked October 2026). For a persona, the usual pattern is a trained character still as the start frame and a short image-to-video clip; our Kling image-to-video tutorial covers prompting for that.

What you give up by using Kling through the bundle is not spelled out on Magnific's pages, so we do not claim Kling's Elements, voice binding or multi-shot controls are available there. If those features are central to your format, buy a Kling plan directly; Kling's guide puts its 4K mode for the 3.0 series at 30 credits per second, which is a useful ceiling when you budget.

Before you pay for an annual plan
  • Write down your real monthly image and clip counts for the last two months
  • Check which of your models are on the current unlimited list
  • Price your clips at the resolution you actually post
  • Add a retry allowance for rejected generations
  • Confirm the plan includes a commercial license for client work
  • Test one month on monthly billing before switching to annual

If you want the full persona workflow rather than the tool choice, our AI Influencers program covers character design, image and video production, and turning the account into brand work.

Freepik AI for personas: FAQ

Is Freepik AI still called Freepik?

No. Freepik renamed itself Magnific in April 2026. Its help center says it is the same company, team and account, and freepik.com redirects to magnific.com. Existing Freepik plans kept their price and billing cycle. The AI image generator, video generator, Custom Characters and credit system all carried over under the new name. Checked October 2026.

How much does Freepik AI cost in 2026?

On the Magnific pricing page, checked October 2026, Premium is $14.50 a month billed annually with 240,000 credits a year, Premium+ is $33.75 a month billed annually with 600,000 credits a year plus unlimited generation on selected models, and Pro Starter is $82.50 a month billed annually with 1.5 million credits. Monthly billing costs more. Prices exclude VAT.

Can Freepik make a consistent character?

Yes. Freepik, now Magnific, has a Custom Characters feature built on LoRA training. You upload 12 to 24 images of the character from different angles and with a mix of expressions, train it, then generate new images or use them as start frames for video. Training costs 3,000 credits per character on the current pricing page. We have not run our own consistency tests for this article.

Is Freepik AI cheaper than buying Kling and Flux separately?

For a mixed monthly workload of many images and a few dozen video clips, Premium+ usually costs less than a Kling plan plus FLUX API images, because most image models are unlimited on Premium+. For low volume, or video-heavy work on Kling's newest features, separate subscriptions can win. Run your own numbers with current prices; both companies say credit costs can change.

Does Freepik AI video include Kling?

Yes. The Magnific pricing page lists several Kling models, including Kling 2.5 at 720p (140 credits per 5 seconds, unlimited all year on Premium+) and Kling 3.0 Pro at 1080p (450 credits per 5 seconds). It also lists Seedance, Wan, MiniMax and Google Veo models. Checked October 2026; credit costs and the unlimited list change often.

What does unlimited mean on Freepik Premium+?

Unlimited lets you generate on selected models without spending credits. Magnific says it includes a priority allowance each cycle; once that runs out, generations run one at a time and speed depends on demand. Some models, including Nano Banana Pro, Flux.2 Flex and Flux.2 Max, are moving from unlimited to credits on Premium+ at renewal. Video, audio and editing tools still use credits.
