Meta One and Meta Verified both sell Instagram's verified badge, but they are different products. Meta Verified is the identity subscription: Standard costs USD $11.99 a month on the web or $14.99 in the app in most regions and includes the badge, impersonation protection and chat and email support. Meta One, launched on September 15, 2026, bundles features across Meta's apps; its creator plans start with Essential from $14.99 a month, which adds the badge after verification, Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus features and more AI usage, while human support starts at the Advanced plan. Meta Verified is still sold, and Meta has not announced any automatic move for existing subscribers.
Checked against Meta's September 15, 2026 announcement, the Meta Verified page and Meta's Help Center on October 1, 2026. Meta says plans, benefits, prices and availability for both products vary by region, app and account, so check the offer in your own app before you pay.
Quick answer
Meta Verified is the cheaper way to get the badge with support; Meta One is the broader bundle. Both put a verified badge on your Instagram profile once Meta confirms your identity. Meta Verified Standard costs USD $11.99 a month on the web or $14.99 in the app in most regions and includes impersonation protection and chat and email support. Meta One's entry creator plan, Essential, starts at $14.99 a month and adds Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus features and more AI usage, but Meta's Help Center doesn't list human support until the Advanced plan.
Meta Verified has not been replaced. Meta still sells it on its own page and runs a separate Help Center for it, and as of October 1, 2026 it had not announced any automatic move for existing subscribers.

What is the Meta One subscription?
Meta One is Meta's subscription family across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI, announced on September 15, 2026. Meta says the core experience in its apps and Meta AI stays free. It sells three groups of plans:
| Plan group | Plans and starting prices (USD a month) | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Single product | Instagram Plus $3.99, Facebook Plus $3.99, WhatsApp Plus $2.99 | People who want extra features in one app |
| Personal bundles | Core $7.99, Premium $19.99 | People who want all three Plus plans and more Meta AI image and video generation |
| Creator and business bundles | Essential from $14.99, Advanced from $49.99, Expert from $149, Max from $499 | Creators and businesses; these are the plans that include a verified badge |
Two details matter before you plan around it. Meta's Help Center says Meta One is "available through supported Meta apps on mobile devices (iPhone or Android)," so unlike Meta Verified Standard, there is no web price. And while the announcement said the plans "are now available globally," the same Help Center page still said on October 1, 2026 that Meta One "is currently in limited testing and isn't available everywhere yet." If you don't see it in your app, it may not have reached your account.
What each Meta One creator plan adds
- Essential (from $14.99): a verified badge and impersonation protection once you pass verification, images next to the links on your profile, more monthly AI usage for image and video generation, and Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus benefits.
- Advanced (from $49.99): clickable links in up to 4 Instagram posts and 4 Instagram reels a month, shared access for up to 4 people without sharing your password, competitive insights that compare your Instagram profile with similar ones, optimized search, one chat a month with a human support agent, and up to 2 requests a month for a label that credits your original reel. The announcement also lists story scheduling up to 30 days ahead and exportable analytics.
- Expert (from $149) and Max (from $499): the same tools at higher limits: links in up to 8 or 12 Instagram posts and the same number of reels a month, shared access for 8 or 30 people, 5 support chats a month with call-backs on Expert or support as often as you need on Max, and 4 or 6 original-credit requests. Expert also adds custom chat themes.
Meta's Help Center lists some Advanced features, including Featured in feed, the bold follow button and automatic follow invites, as Facebook features, so they won't help on Instagram.
How much does Meta Verified cost in 2026?
Meta lists four creator plans. These are Meta's USD prices for "most regions," read on its Meta Verified page on October 1, 2026; you see local pricing when you start signing up.
| Plan | Price per month | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | $11.99 on the web, $14.99 in the app | Verified badge, impersonation protection, chat and email support, search optimization, images on links, exclusive stickers |
| Plus | $49.99 | Featured profile, 2 links in reels a month, a trial of Reels original credit |
| Premium | $149.99 | 4 links in reels a month, custom chat themes |
| Max | $499.99 | Personalized content strategy advice |
Each plan includes everything in the plans above it, according to Instagram's benefits page. Verifying one Instagram and one Facebook profile in the same Accounts Center gets a discounted price. To qualify you need to be 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live), have a government-issued photo ID, and use an Instagram personal or creator account with Advanced Protection on that meets minimum activity rules, in a country where Meta Verified is sold. Our guide on how to get verified on Instagram walks through the sign-up.
How the verified badge works on each
- Meta Verified requires a government-issued photo ID, which you may be asked to upload when you subscribe, and your verified profile name must match the legal name on it, with limited exceptions.
- Meta One doesn't require verification to subscribe. During onboarding Meta tries to verify you "based on your activity across our platforms," a step that "cannot be skipped or paused." Creators may still need to upload a government-issued photo ID with a photo that matches their profile picture. Verified profile names must match the legal name on that ID, and name changes are reviewed for up to 3 days.
- On both, canceling the subscription ends the badge and impersonation protection. Meta One also lets you remove the badge without canceling the plan.
In Meta's words, the badge "shows that your profile was authenticated by Meta." It confirms who you are, not how good your content is.
Is Meta Verified worth it?
It depends on which problem you are paying to solve.
- Impersonators. Both products include proactive impersonation monitoring, and Meta says it "will remove accounts that we determine are pretending to be you." If fake accounts copy you, this is the strongest reason to pay.
- Support. Meta Verified includes chat and email support on every plan. On Meta One, human support starts at Advanced. If you want someone to contact when an account problem hits, Meta Verified Standard is the cheapest route.
- Credibility. Meta pitches the subscription as a way to "build more confidence with new audiences and protect your brand," and the badge helps people tell you apart from copies.
- Reach. Neither product promises more followers or recommendations. Meta lists search optimization and, from Plus, a featured profile, but reach still depends on your content and on your account staying eligible for recommendations; our guide to how the Instagram algorithm works covers what Instagram ranks on.
If you are already notable, try the free route first. Instagram's badge requirements still allow free requests from accounts that represent "a well-known, highly searched for person, brand or entity," judged on coverage in multiple news sources, not paid or sponsored articles.
What happens to existing Meta Verified subscribers?
Nothing changes automatically, as far as Meta has published. Meta Verified still has its own sales page, plans and Help Center, and Meta's subscriptions Help Center lists it as a separate product next to Meta One, Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus. As of October 1, 2026, Meta had not published a migration path, credit or discount for moving from one to the other, and we found no statement on whether one profile can hold both. Both include the badge and impersonation protection, so paying for both means paying twice for those benefits.
If you decide to switch:
- Check that Meta One is offered to you and which plan covers what you need, by starting the sign-up in your app.
- Cancel Meta Verified at least 24 hours before your next payment date. It stays active until the end of the billing cycle, and Meta doesn't offer credits or partial refunds for canceled subscriptions.
- Don't change plans through the app stores. Meta says changing your plan directly through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store may get a Meta Verified subscription revoked.
- Expect a review. Your Meta One badge only appears once verification passes, and changes to a verified profile name can take up to 3 days to review.
Which should an Instagram creator pick?
- Badge, impersonation protection and support for the least money: Meta Verified Standard, bought on the web.
- You would use Instagram Plus features and more Meta AI image and video generation anyway: Meta One Essential, if your app offers it. Support isn't listed at this level.
- Links in reels and posts, team access or competitor insights: at about $50 a month, compare Meta One Advanced (links in 4 Instagram reels and 4 posts a month, shared access for 4 people, competitive insights, one support chat a month) with Meta Verified Plus (2 links in reels a month, a featured profile, chat and email support).
- A brand or shop: look at the Meta One business plans or Meta Verified for businesses rather than creator plans.
- Already notable: request the free badge first.
What about AI influencer accounts?
Both creator badges are built around a person's legal identity: Meta Verified and Meta One both require the verified profile name to match the legal name on a government ID, with limited exceptions under Meta's naming standards. That makes a badge in a virtual character's own name unlikely on a creator plan. Instagram also asks profiles that feature an AI-generated person to turn on its AI-generated profile label; our guide to Instagram's AI label rules explains when it applies, and how to build an Instagram AI influencer covers the account setup.
Grow the account the badge sits on
A badge confirms who you are; it doesn't bring viewers. Instagram Ignited covers the parts of growth a subscription can't buy: distribution signals, trial reels, Instagram SEO and analytics. When the account is ready to earn, our guide on how to make money on Instagram lists each route and what it requires.
Meta One vs Meta Verified FAQ
Is Meta One the same as Meta Verified?
No. Meta Verified is a subscription built around identity: a verified badge, impersonation protection and chat and email support. Meta One, launched on September 15, 2026, is a wider family of plans. Its creator and business plans, starting with Essential from $14.99 a month, also include a verified badge after verification, plus Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus features and more AI usage. Meta still sells Meta Verified separately.
How much does Meta Verified cost?
Meta lists Meta Verified Standard at USD $11.99 a month when you subscribe on the web and $14.99 a month in the app in most regions. Plus costs $49.99, Premium $149.99 and Max $499.99 a month. You see local pricing when you start signing up, and Meta offers a discounted price when you verify one Instagram and one Facebook profile together.
Is Meta Verified worth it?
It is worth it if you need what it sells: a badge, protection from impersonators and access to chat and email support. It is not a growth tool. Meta lists search optimization and, from the Plus plan, a featured profile, but it does not promise more followers or recommendations. If you are already notable, you can request the badge for free.
Does Meta One include a verified badge?
Yes, on the Essential, Advanced, Expert and Max plans, but only once your identity is verified. Meta first tries to verify you automatically from your activity on its apps, and creators may be asked for a government-issued photo ID. Verification is not required to subscribe, but without it the badge and impersonation protection stay off.
What happens to my Meta Verified subscription now that Meta One exists?
Nothing automatic that Meta has announced. As of October 1, 2026, Meta Verified is still sold and supported as its own subscription, and Meta has not published a migration path or credit for moving to Meta One. If you switch, cancel Meta Verified at least 24 hours before your next payment date; it stays active until the end of the billing cycle, and Meta does not give partial refunds.
Does Meta Verified or Meta One increase reach on Instagram?
Neither promises it. Meta Verified includes search optimization and, from Plus, a featured profile, and Meta One lists optimized search from its Advanced plan. How far your posts travel still depends on how people respond to them and on your account staying eligible for recommendations.
