Two other rules from the same help page matter for every format: file names are limited to 70 alphanumeric characters, periods, underscores or hyphens, and buyers see exactly the names you upload, which you cannot edit afterwards. Etsy also does not offer variations on digital items, so different sizes or formats go into the same listing's files or into separate listings.

Because the files arrive by email, many buyers open them first on a phone. Design your file set so at least one file opens there without extra apps, which in practice means a PDF or an image.
Can you sell SVG on Etsy?
Yes, inside a ZIP. SVG is not on Etsy's supported list, so cut-file sellers package the SVG with DXF, PNG and EPS versions in one .zip and upload that. The same applies to Procreate brushes, Lightroom presets, fonts and design source files.

A ZIP of SVGs is supported, but a buyer on a phone with a cutting machine app may struggle to get the file into it. An EPUB is supported, but not every buyer has an e-reader app. Close that gap with an instructions PDF and a line in the listing description stating what the buyer needs.

- Wall art: high-resolution JPGs in the ratios you advertise, plus a PDF size guide.
- SVG cut files: ZIP with SVG, DXF, PNG and EPS, plus a PDF instructions sheet.
- Ebook: PDF plus EPUB, so it reads on any device.
- Canva or Google templates: a PDF with the template link, because the product lives online.
