For clips with no credit limit at all, the open Wan 2.2 models run on your own graphics card under the Apache 2.0 license. Every other free plan is a small daily allowance, a one-time grant, or an unpublished amount.

Google Flow: Veo 3.1 and Gemini Omni Flash for free
Flow is Google's video tool, and it is the free route to Veo. The credits page says that with or without a subscription you receive 50 Flow credits a day, that the day's refresh starts with your first generation, and that unused credits do not roll over. The same page lists what each generation costs, so you can count your clips before you sign up.

Three limits apply. Flow is for users aged 18 and over in the countries Google lists. During peak hours, "roughly 2 PM to 5 PM UTC", Google says you may not be able to generate videos without a subscription. And 1080p upscaling is marked not available to non-subscribers. Google AI Plus, at $4.99 a month in the United States, adds 200 monthly credits on top of the daily 50.
Flow is not the Gemini app: Google's Gemini help page says a personal account needs a Google AI plan to generate video there.
YouTube Create, Shorts and Google Vids
The YouTube Create app generates vertical clips up to 10 seconds with Gemini Omni, from a text prompt and up to three reference images. YouTube says it is on mobile devices in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand and the United States, for a limited number of creators, and that clips are labeled as synthetic. Its separate Shorts AI tools also make standalone clips and disclose the AI use for you. Google Vids generates Omni clips too, up to 50 a month for most users, but only for use inside Vids.
Kling, Dreamina and PixVerse: recurring free credits
Kling AI. The free Basic plan no longer runs on daily credits. Non-subscribers claim monthly free credits at login, valid for 31 days, in an amount Kling does not publish, and the plan table marks 1080p, watermark removal and commercial use as member benefits. Dreamina. ByteDance's Dreamina page answers the question directly: "You'll receive 150 credits every day, although the amount may vary depending on your region." The page does not say what a Seedance clip costs, so check the price the app shows before you generate. Its terms say the services are "generally provided for private, non-commercial use".
PixVerse. The Basic plan is $0 with 60 initial credits and 30 daily credits that reset each day, at up to 540p. Watermark-free output starts with the Standard plan. The terms say your use of outputs "is limited to non-commercial purposes" unless you obtain a commercial license.
Runway, Hailuo and Adobe Firefly
Runway. The Free plan includes 125 credits once. Runway says the deposit "does not expire, and does not renew or refresh once spent". It covers a limited set of models, free videos carry a watermark, and Gen-4.5 needs the Standard plan. The upside is rights: Runway says what you create is yours to use "without any non-commercial restrictions from us". Plans and costs are in Kling vs Runway.
Hailuo AI. The subscription terms give new users "a one-time welcome package of free credits" that expires three days after it is granted, and say free users download videos with a watermark. Its commercial-use clause covers paid plans. The open weights of its MiniMax H3 model are covered in our MiniMax H3 guide.
Adobe Firefly. Adobe says its video generator is "free to use with a daily allotment of generations that resets every day", covering the Firefly Video Model and select partner models. It does not publish the number. Adobe says videos from its own model are designed to be safe for commercial use and that partner models may have different terms, so note which model made each clip.
Wan 2.2 in ComfyUI: free with no credit limit
The only free AI video generator with no allowance to run out is one you host. Wan 2.2 is an open video model family from Alibaba's Wan team under the Apache 2.0 license. Its text-to-video and image-to-video models support 480p and 720p, and the smaller TI2V-5B model makes 720p at 24 fps. It runs in ComfyUI, which ships templates for it.
Hardware is the cost. The repository says its TI2V-5B command "can run on a GPU with at least 24GB VRAM" and its 14B commands on at least 80GB. ComfyUI's Wan 2.2 guide uses lighter files and says the 5B version "should fit well on 8GB vram with the ComfyUI native offloading". Neither source publishes a generation time. Make the first frame as an image, then spend video credits only on motion.
- 2Draft cheap, finish once
In Flow, a 360p Omni Flash draft costs about half of 720p. Test framing and movement there, then render the keeper.
- 3Spend what expires first
Flow and PixVerse credits reset daily, Hailuo's package lasts three days and Kling's monthly credits 31. Runway's 125 never expire, so save them.
- 4One action per clip
One subject, one action, one camera move. A miss costs less to redo.
- 5Change one thing per retry
Keep a log of prompts and settings so you know what fixed the result.
The still-first workflow is covered in our image-to-video guide. If the still shows a person, it should be a fictional adult persona you created, or someone who gave you written permission. Animating a real person's face or cloning their voice without that permission is not allowed.
Watermarks, labels and commercial use
Do not crop or blur a watermark out. It does not change the rights you were granted, and files can carry invisible marks too: Google says SynthID is embedded across its generative AI consumer products and is designed to survive cropping, filters and compression.
Label realistic AI video when you post it. YouTube requires creators to disclose content that is AI-generated or meaningfully altered and looks realistic. Stay on free plans while you are learning or testing prompts.
