We read 259 paid listings across twelve Notion Marketplace categories on 11 October 2026. The median listed price was $15, and half sat between $8 and $29. Trackers and planners clustered at $5 to $12.50, personal systems at $7 to $20, creator systems at $10 to $28 and business systems at $12 to $50, with a small group of trade-specific systems at $99 to $250. These are asking prices, not sales.
How much to charge for Notion templates depends on the type: $5 to $12.50 for a single tracker or planner, $7 to $20 for a personal system, $10 to $28 for a creator system and $12 to $50 for a business system. Those are the ranges where half of the comparable paid listings sat when we read 259 of them on Notion's Marketplace on 11 October 2026, and the median across all of them was $15.
Prices read on 11 October 2026 from twelve Notion Marketplace category pages with the Paid filter on, in the default Popular order. Fees and selling rules checked the same day against Notion's help page on selling on Marketplace. Every price here is a listing price a seller chose. We have no sales, revenue or conversion data, and nothing on this page is an earnings estimate.
A price band tells you where the shelf is, which is one input of three. Cost and value are the other two, and our digital product pricing strategy hub covers how they fit together. If the template is not built yet, start with how to make Notion templates to sell.
The findings
- Half of the listings sat between $8 and $29
- Two thirds were under $20; 20 of the 259 were $100 or more
- The lowest was $0.99 and the highest $250
Source: Notion Marketplace category pages, Paid filter, Popular order, read 11 October 2026
- Type sets the band. Median prices rose from $8 for trackers and planners to $12 for personal systems, $15 for creator systems and $26.49 for business systems.
- Most of the shelf is cheap. 172 of 259 listings, 66%, were under $20, and 90 were under $10.
- The expensive end is narrow. Of the 20 listings at $100 or more, 19 were business systems, most of them built for a single trade.
- Sellers price in a few familiar numbers. The most common exact prices were $19 (20 listings), $9 (17), $29 (16) and $11.99 (15), and 58% of all prices ended in a 9 or in .99.
- About half sell through Notion itself. 137 listings had no outside purchase link; the other 122 sent the buyer to another store, most often Gumroad.
- Free is the majority. In every category, Notion's Paid filter showed about 39% of the category's template count.
Method: what we read and how
Each Notion Marketplace category page shows 24 templates at a time and has a price filter with three settings: Free + Paid, Paid and Free. For twelve categories we opened the first page with the Paid filter on, in the default Popular order, and recorded the name, creator, listed price and whether the listing carried an outside purchase link. That gave 288 rows. Twenty-eight templates appeared in more than one category, leaving 259 unique listings from 171 creators.
- The categories. Habit Tracking, Budgets, Student Planner, Second Brain, Personal Dashboards, Content Calendar, Social Media Planner, Creators, CRM, Freelance, Client Portal and Run your business.
- The types. We grouped them into trackers and planners (the first three), personal systems (the next two), creator systems (the next three) and business systems (the last four). The grouping is ours.
- The statistics. Medians and the middle half, meaning the 25th to 75th percentile. A template listed in two categories counts once in its type and once overall.
- The currency. Notion states that all template sales are in US dollars.
The pages are public and Notion's robots file allows them. We read the first page of each category, with and without the Paid filter, and did not use search, logins or anything a visitor could not see.
Notion template price ranges by type
A tracker is priced like a printable and a business system is priced like a small tool. The gap between the two is the clearest pattern in the sample.
Types group the twelve categories: 71, 48, 62 and 92 listings in turn. A template listed in two categories of one type counts once. Source: Notion Marketplace category pages, Paid filter, Popular order, read 11 October 2026
| Category | Templates in category | Median paid price | Middle half | Lowest to highest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Habit Tracking | 2,896 | $8.99 | $5.00 to $9.62 | $0.99 to $39 |
| Budgets | 1,339 | $7.99 | $5.49 to $15.50 | $0.99 to $50 |
| Student Planner | 2,447 | $8.50 | $4.00 to $13.22 | $2 to $20 |
| Personal Dashboards | 349 | $9.50 | $5 to $19 | $1.49 to $59 |
| Second Brain | 384 | $17.50 | $9.74 to $24.24 | $1 to $69 |
| Creators | 1,784 | $12.00 | $11.99 to $29 | $3.99 to $149 |
| Content Calendar | 996 | $15 | $9.50 to $21 | $3.50 to $49 |
| Social Media Planner | 1,246 | $15 | $8.25 to $25.99 | $1 to $99 |
| Freelance | 6,132 | $11.99 | $9.75 to $19 | $7.99 to $199 |
| Client Portal | 504 | $26.49 | $15 to $49 | $2 to $199 |
| Run your business | 453 | $29 | $19 to $130.99 | $1.50 to $250 |
| CRM | 2,191 | $29.99 | $11.74 to $149 | $9 to $199.99 |
Three things stand out in the table. Habit trackers are the tightest market on the page: 9 of the 24 were priced between $8.44 and $9.99, so $9 is less a choice than a convention. Second Brain templates ask roughly double a tracker, which fits a product made of several linked databases. And the two categories with the widest spread, CRM and Run your business, are the ones where a template stops being a page and starts being a process.
The wide spread deserves a caution. In CRM, six listings were priced at exactly $149, and five of those six came from one seller with a line of trade-specific systems. A first page in popular order can be shaped by a handful of prolific shops, so read the top of a range as "someone asks this", not "the market pays this".
Notion template pricing: where the listings cluster
Two thirds of paid listings were under $20. The bands thin out quickly above that, then thicken again at $100 and over, where the trade-specific business systems sit.

- $10 to $19.9932%
- $20 to $29.9914%

The $50 to $99.99 band is the emptiest, with 12 listings. Sellers seem to treat a Notion template as either an impulse purchase under $30 or a business purchase in three figures, with little in between. If your template is priced at $59 or $79, you are in thin company, which can mean an opening or can mean buyers have not been taught to pay it. Only a test on your own listing will say which.
Free or paid: where the freemium line sits
Most Notion templates are free. In each of the twelve categories, the count shown with the Paid filter on was 38.8% to 39.0% of the category's total. A ratio that uniform suggests Notion's counter is an estimate, so treat it as "roughly four in ten", not as a census.
Either way, a paid template competes with free ones on the same page. The line that holds up, in our reading of the listings, is between a page and a system.
- A single tracker or one-page dashboard
- A cut-down version of the paid system
- Something that is useful alone on day one
- A page that shows your structure and style
- A listing that points to the paid version
- Several databases that work together
- Formulas, automations and views a buyer could not build quickly
- A named job or trade: onboarding for a design studio
- Sample data, a setup video and support
- Updates when Notion changes how things work
One Notion-specific detail favours a free listing as your first: access locking, which stops a template being moved to another workspace, is only available for templates you sell through Notion or list free on Marketplace. A free template can be protected in a way a Gumroad link cannot.

Prices were similar on both sides: a median of $15 for listings sold through Notion and $12.50 for those that linked out. The fee is not similar across price points. Notion charges 8% plus 40 cents on each sale through its checkout, and the 40 cents is a large share of a small price.
| Price | Notion fee (8% + $0.40) | You keep | Share kept |
|---|---|---|---|
| $2 | $0.56 | $1.44 | 72.0% |
| $5 | $0.80 | $4.20 | 84.0% |
| $9 | $1.12 | $7.88 | 87.6% |
| $15 | $1.60 | $13.40 | 89.3% |
| $29 | $2.72 | $26.28 | 90.6% |
| $149 | $12.32 | $136.68 | 91.7% |
That table is the argument against the $1 to $3 listings in the sample. At $2 the fee takes 28% and the sale leaves $1.44. Creators outside the United States pay a further 1% foreign exchange fee on payouts. For other stores, our comparison of the Notion template marketplace and its alternatives has each fee side by side.
How to price Notion templates from these bands
Start inside the middle half for your type, at a number buyers already recognise. The starting prices below are our reading of the sample, not a rule and not a forecast.
| Template type | Middle half in the sample | Where we would start | Reasoning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single tracker or planner | $5 to $12.50 | $9 | The most common tracker price in the sample. Above $12.50 you are in the top quarter |
| Personal system (second brain, life dashboard) | $7 to $20 | $12 to $15 | Several linked databases justify more than a tracker; $19 needs a demo and a setup video |
| Creator system (content calendar, social planner) | $10 to $28 | $15 to $19 | The buyer uses it for work. $29 fits a system with planning, assets and reporting together |
| General business system (CRM, client portal, freelance) | $12 to $50 | $19 to $29 | Medians sat at $12 to $30. $49 fits a system that replaces a paid tool for one workflow |
| Trade-specific operating system | $99 to $250, asked by a few sellers | $49, then raise | Listed, not proven. Test whether your trade pays before you price like software |

Limitations: what this sample cannot tell you
- One marketplace. Templates sold only on Gumroad, Etsy or a creator's own site are not in the sample unless they are also listed on Notion.
- One day. Prices and the popular order change. We did not track them over time.
- Coupons are invisible. Notion lets sellers run coupons, and outside stores run their own discounts, so the price paid can be lower than the price listed.
- Outside prices are self-reported. For listings that link out, the price shown on Notion is entered by the seller and may differ from the store's current price.
- Categories overlap. A template can sit in several categories, so category medians are not independent of each other.
- English listings. The pages were read with Notion's default English locale.
Pricing Notion templates: FAQ
How much should I charge for a Notion template?
Start inside the range where comparable listings already sit. In our sample of 259 paid listings on Notion Marketplace, half of the trackers and planners were priced from $5 to $12.50, personal systems from $7 to $20, creator systems from $10 to $28 and business systems from $12 to $50. The overall median was $15. These are asking prices read on 11 October 2026, not sales figures.
What is the average price of a Notion template?
The median listed price in our sample was $15, and half of the listings fell between $8 and $29. We use the median because a few listings at $149 to $250 pull a simple average upward. The sample is 259 paid templates from the first page of twelve Notion Marketplace categories in popular order, so it describes what buyers see first, not every template on sale.
How much should a Notion habit tracker cost?
About $9. Of the 24 paid habit trackers on the first page of Notion's Habit Tracking category, 9 were priced between $8.44 and $9.99, the median was $8.99, and half sat between $5 and $9.62. The highest was $39. A habit tracker priced above $12 is asking more than three quarters of the comparable listings we read, so the listing has to show why.
Can I charge $100 or more for a Notion template?
Some sellers list at that level: 20 of the 259 listings we read were $100 or more, and 19 of those were business systems, mostly built for one trade. They came from a small number of sellers, and a listing price is not evidence of sales. Treat a three-figure price as a hypothesis: start lower, prove demand, and raise in steps.
Should my first Notion template be free?
A free template is a reasonable first listing, because most of the shelf is free. In every category we read, Notion's Paid filter showed about 39% of the category's template count. Make the free one a single page that works alone and leads to a paid system. Notion also lets free Marketplace listings use access locking, which a template sold through an outside store cannot use.
What does Notion take from a template sale?
When you sell through Notion's own checkout, Notion charges 8% plus 40 cents per transaction, and creators outside the United States pay a further 1% foreign exchange fee on payouts. On a $9 template that is $1.12, leaving $7.88. On a $2 template it is $0.56, or 28% of the price, which is why very low prices rarely make sense. Checked October 2026.
Should I price a Notion template at $9 or $9.99?
Either is normal. In our sample 149 of 259 prices, about 58%, ended in a 9 or in .99, and the most common exact prices were $19, $9, $29 and $11.99. We have no data on which ending converts better, and neither does anyone who has not tested it on their own listing. Pick one style and use it across your catalog.
