Make the swipe worth it
A seamless carousel is a format, not a plan. Instagram Ignited covers carousel structure, captions and testing which formats work for your account.
Explore Instagram IgnitedHow the splitter works
Panorama size = (slides × 1080) by slide height (1350 for 4:5, 1080 for 1:1) Crop the image to that shape: full width or full height, centred across, with the vertical slider choosing which band of a tall image stays Slice i covers x = i × 1080 to (i + 1) × 1080 of the panorama
Example: three 4:5 slides from a 6000×2000 photo. The panorama shape is 3240×1350 (2.4:1), so the tool keeps a 4800×2000 area starting 600 pixels from the left and cuts it into three 1600-pixel-wide pieces, each saved at 1080×1350.
Avoiding the seam
- Exactly 1080 wide. Instagram's Help Center says photos are shared at up to 1080 pixels wide and larger ones are sized down. Slices at exactly 1080 aren't resized again, so neighbouring edges stay matched.
- No borders or padding. Any frame or white edge shows up as a line between slides. These files run edge to edge.
- One shape for every slide. A carousel shows every item at the same shape. If you crop the first slide differently in the app, all of them shift and the joins break.
- Mind the middle. Faces or text that sit across a cut get split between two slides. Move the subject, or change the slide count, so key details sit inside one slide.

FAQ
How do I make a seamless panorama carousel on Instagram?
Pick a wide image, choose how many slides and the slide shape, then download the numbered slices. Upload them to one carousel post in order, 1 first, and keep every slide the same shape so Instagram does not crop any of them differently.
Why is there a thin line or gap between my carousel slides?
Usually the slices are not exactly the same size, have a border, or were cropped again in the app. Each slice from this tool is exactly 1080 pixels wide with no border or padding, so the edges meet. When posting, keep the shape you exported at instead of letting Instagram crop the first slide.
Should I use 4:5 or 1:1 slides?
4:5 slides are taller, so they take up more of the screen in the feed. 1:1 needs a wider original for the same number of slides. Whichever you pick, Instagram uses one shape for every item in a carousel.
How wide should my original image be?
For full sharpness, about 1080 pixels per slide at the slide height: 3,240×1,350 for three 4:5 slides. A smaller image still works, but it is enlarged and looks softer. Taller images are trimmed at the top and bottom; use the vertical slider to pick what stays.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The slicing happens in your browser on your device, and nothing is sent to IImagined or any other server.
