Fanvue hosts adult content, so this page is for adults and stays on business and policy. I run a creator management agency, so subscription platforms are my daily work, but every figure below comes from the pages linked above and not from that work.

What is Fanvue, and how does it work?
Fanvue describes itself as "a social subscription platform" built for "every kind of creator - human or AI". A creator sets a monthly price. A fan can follow for free, but full access, meaning exclusive content and direct messages, needs an active subscription. On top of that, creators sell single pieces of content and take tips.
- Open a free account with an email. A random username is assigned
- Follow a creator for free, or subscribe for full access
- Pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. PayPal is not accepted
- Buy pay-per-view posts and messages as one-off purchases
- Cancel any time and keep access to the end of the 30 days
- An age check may be required before adult content, by location
- Pass an identity check with a government ID, a selfie and a liveness check
- Set a subscription price from $3.99 to $100 a month
- Sell paid posts, paid messages, tips, voice calls and voice notes
- Keep 80% of what fans pay at the standard rate
- Wait out a pending period, then request a payout

Fanvue's overview lists influencers, fitness models, actors, sports people, musicians and AI personas. Fanvue hosts age-restricted content, which is why every account holder must be at least 18 and why, in a growing number of regions, a fan is asked to pass an age check by selfie before adult content is shown. Fanvue says that check is run by a third party and that it keeps only a pass or fail result and a timestamp.
The meaning of the name is not explained on any page read for this article, so there is no official answer to that search. In use, "a Fanvue" means a creator's paid page, in the way people say "a Patreon".
Is Fanvue legit, and is it safe?
Fanvue is a legitimate, registered company. Its help centre states: "Fanvue is owned by Shift Holdings Ltd, a limited company registered in England and Wales, with a company registration number 12729677." It gives a registered office in London, publishes its terms and policies at legal.fanvue.com, and keeps a dated changelog of policy edits. A company number is something you can look up yourself in the UK's public company register.
Legitimate is not the same as risk free. These are the protections Fanvue documents:
- Payment data. Fanvue says it complies with PCI DSS and "does not store your card data on its own systems". Card handling sits with its payment processor.
- Fan privacy. A creator sees your username and your messages to them. Fanvue says creators cannot see your email address, card details, location or purchases from other creators.
- Statement privacy. Every charge appears as fanvue.com, with no creator name.
- Account security. Two-factor authentication with an authenticator app is available in Settings.
- Creator identity. Every creator account, AI accounts included, passes identity verification before it can earn.
- You typed fanvue.com yourself, and did not arrive from a link in a message
- Two-factor authentication is switched on
- You checked the bio for the AI tag before subscribing
- You ignore any in-app message that claims to be from Fanvue
- You contact support before your bank if a charge looks wrong
The last item matters: Fanvue's refund and statement articles both say that raising a chargeback with your bank before going through its dispute process leads to a permanent account ban. What this page cannot tell you: no independent security audit of Fanvue is published on the pages read, and we have not run money through it to test a payout.
Is Fanvue free? What fans pay
Joining is free and following can be free. Everything behind the paywall is priced by the creator, inside Fanvue's limits.

To cancel, go to Settings, Payments & Subscriptions, Manage My Subscriptions and select Unsubscribe next to the creator. Cancel at least 1 or 2 hours before the renewal time, because a payment that has started processing cannot be stopped. There is no legitimate way around the paywall: Fanvue's terms prohibit scraping, downloading or sharing it without authorisation.
Fanvue fees: what creators keep
Fanvue's Creator Earnings and Payouts policy sets one number for everything a creator sells: "the standard Creator Earning Rate is 80% of gross revenue from Paid-for Services, with the remaining 20% retained by Fanvue as Platform Fees." That covers subscriptions, tips, pay-per-view messages, bundles and custom content.

Three things sit around the 80%. A temporary promotional rate can apply to new or eligible creators and is shown inside the account. Earnings are calculated before tax. And disputes cost money: a refund or chargeback is deducted from the balance, and once an account passes a 1.5% dispute rate in a rolling 30 days Fanvue may charge a $50 administrative fee for each further dispute. How Fanvue payouts work
A sale moves through three states: pending, available, paid.

Payouts go by bank transfer wherever it is supported, or to the MassPay and Cosmo e-wallets by location. PayPal is not offered. The bank account must be in the verified creator's own name. Fanvue lists a 1% fee on one of its payout providers and none of its own on a bank transfer. Fanvue AI rules: is Fanvue AI?
Fanvue is not an AI product. It is a platform that allows AI creators next to human ones, and says so: "AI creators are a fully recognised and verified category on Fanvue."
- The account is tagged. "Every AI creator has an AI tag displayed in their profile bio." Fanvue will not refund a subscription because the creator turned out to be AI when the tag was showing.
- The media is disclosed. The Community Guidelines require "a clear and prominent disclosure" on all AI-generated media, by watermark, caption, message or bio statement.
- The owner is a verified human. The person behind an AI account passes the same identity check as any creator. The persona can be fictional. Its operator cannot be anonymous to Fanvue.
- No real people. AI media must not show a real person other than the account owner, and face-swapped media needs the real model verified. A persona must never resemble anyone under 18.
- No pretending. A creator with an AI model may not tell fans in posts or chats that the persona is a real person.
- Several personas are allowed. After one completed withdrawal, one verified identity can link up to 15 AI creator accounts, against 2 for a human creator.

Is there a Fanvue app?
No, not a native one. Fanvue's help centre says: "Due to the strict terms and conditions of the App Store and Google Play Store, Fanvue cannot create a mobile app." What it offers is a web app. On an iPhone, open fanvue.com in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. On Android, open it in Chrome, tap the three-dot menu and choose Add to Home screen or Install app.
So anything in an app store that calls itself Fanvue is not from Fanvue. The Fanvue App Store that creators hear about is a marketplace of creator tools inside the dashboard, not a phone app.
Is Fanvue like OnlyFans?
In shape, yes. Both are 18+ subscription platforms, both keep 20%, and both check a creator's identity. They part ways on AI. OnlyFans allows AI content only when it "clearly features the verified Creator", which a fully synthetic persona cannot do; the detail is in can you use AI on OnlyFans. Fanvue lets fans browse a Discover feed; OnlyFans can pay out on an automatic schedule and lists no dispute fee. Who Fanvue suits, and who it does not
- You expect the platform to supply your first customers
- Your plan is brand deals or ad revenue, not fan payments
- You need PayPal, for paying or for payouts
- You want an app from the App Store or Google Play
- You will not disclose that a persona is AI
- You run a disclosed AI persona, or you are a human creator
- You already have an audience on social platforms
- You have something worth paying for behind a paywall
- You can wait 7 to 28 days for a sale to clear
- You are 18 or over and will pass an identity check

How do I cancel a Fanvue subscription?
Open Settings, then Payments & Subscriptions, then Manage My Subscriptions, find the creator and select Unsubscribe. You keep access until the end of the current 30-day billing period. Fanvue advises cancelling at least 1 or 2 hours before the renewal time, because a payment that is already processing still goes through and is non-refundable.
