OnlyFans management is the recurring work of running a creator account: planning and posting, pricing, messaging, promotion on other platforms, and checks on money and rules. A creator can do all of it with the platform's own tools or hand parts to someone else. The identity checks, the content, the legal responsibility and the tax stay with the verified creator. Fanvue documents more of the tooling, including Manager Accounts, a Queue, Lists and AI Messaging.

I run a creator management agency, so this is the work as it is done week to week. The tools and limits below are quoted from the platforms' public pages, and where OnlyFans' help centre does not describe a feature I say so instead of describing it from memory. Both platforms are for adults only, and this page stays on business and mechanics.

The weekly work of managing an account
Management is a loop that repeats every week. Only one step in it needs the creator in person. The rest is organisation, which is why it can be learned, and why it is the part people pay someone else to do.
- 1Plan the week
A calendar of posts, one or two paid messages, and any promotion that starts or ends.
- 2Make the content
The creator's step. Everything else in the loop is built around it.
- 3Load and schedule
Upload, caption, price where needed, and line the posts up for the week.
- 4Answer messages every day
The largest block of time. Replies are where paid messages and tips are agreed.
- 5Promote on other platforms
Post on the social accounts that send people to the page, inside each one's rules.
- 6Check the money
Pending and current balance, refunds or chargebacks, and the next payout.
- 7Check the rules
Labels, anyone else who appears in content, and any policy page that changed.
- 8Review and adjust
What sold, what was ignored, which promotion brought subscribers who stayed.
Two of those steps decide whether the others matter. Promotion, because OnlyFans is not built for discovery: its help centre says finding a creator by search needs the username, and it "does not accept requests or payment for advertising or promoting Creator accounts". Where a page may be promoted is covered in OnlyFans advertising rules. And messaging, because that is where most of the selling happens. Fanvue's own guide for new creators, dated 10 August 2026, says the subscription is "the entry point" and that most of the money is made afterwards, in the conversation. The things an account can sell are set out in how to make money on OnlyFans.
Daily, weekly and monthly jobs
Sorting the loop by how often each job comes round makes it easier to see what a single person can carry.
- Daily. Messages, and at least one post on a social account. These are the two jobs that cannot be batched, because both depend on other people replying. Set fixed reply windows instead of answering all day.
- Weekly. Plan, upload and schedule the posts, write the week's paid message, and read the statements page. OnlyFans holds earnings as a pending balance for 7 days for most creators before they move to the current balance, so a weekly look is enough to follow the money.
- Monthly. Review the subscription price and any running promotion, take or confirm the payout, file the records you will need for tax, and re-read the policy pages you depend on. OnlyFans says it "cannot provide you with tax advice", so the record keeping is yours.
One decision sits above the loop and is made once: whether the page is paid or free. OnlyFans lets a creator "have a free account ($0.00 price) and monetise individual pieces of content through Pay Per View or direct messages". A free page moves the whole business into messaging, which raises the daily workload; a paid page earns something from each subscriber before a message is sent. Neither is right for every account, but it changes how many hours management takes, so decide it before building the calendar.
Refunds are part of the money check, not an exception to it. OnlyFans says it cannot prevent a fan from requesting a chargeback, and that when one succeeds "the amount will be removed from the Creator's income". A paid message that describes exactly what is inside it is the cheapest protection there is.
The tools the platforms provide
Each row is a management job and what each platform's public help pages say it gives you for it. "Not described" means the public help centre has no page on it, not that the feature does not exist inside an account.
| Job | OnlyFans | Fanvue |
|---|---|---|
| Subscription price | $4.99 to $50 a month, or a free account at $0.00. Bundles of 2 or more months up to $250 | $3.99 to $100 a month. Bundles for 3, 6 or 12 months at up to 50% off |
| Promotions | A promotional campaign at up to 90% off for a limited time and a limited number of fans. Free trials for fans who are not subscribed | A free trial or a discounted first month, aimed at all, new or expired fans or followers. Free trial links |
| Posting | A post holds up to 40 pictures or videos, with video files up to 3 GB | Schedule from New Post or from the Queue calendar. A Vault with folders, and Collections |
| Paid messages and posts | A price from $3 to $100 on a private message or a post | Priced media in messages. A paid post from $3 to $500 |
| Messaging at scale | Not described in the public help centre | Seven automatic Lists, mass messages, automated messages on triggers and saved templates |
| AI help with replies | None. "OnlyFans does not offer an internal AI chatbot tool for Creators." | AI Messaging drafts, replies and rewrites, with chat summaries |
| Measuring promotion | Not described in the public help centre | Unlimited tracking links, one per platform or campaign |
| Protecting content | A free watermark and DRM video protection. Hide the profile by IP address, country or state | Geo-blocking and a discoverability switch |
| Money | A Statements page with Earnings, Payout Requests, Current Balance and Pending Balance. Manual or automatic payouts | Pending and available balance. A payout is requested from the account |
| Access and security | Two-step authentication and a list of login sessions in Account Settings | Two-factor authentication and Manager Accounts with limited permissions |
Three practical notes on that table. Promotions on OnlyFans are capped in two ways, by expiry date and by the number of fans who can claim them, so a discount never has to run open-ended. A menu of extras has to fit the price limits in the fourth row, which is the subject of our OnlyFans menu guide. And Fanvue's Vault article gives the best filing advice I have seen in a help centre: label pieces in the order you plan to sell them, so that "you, or anyone helping you chat" knows which comes next. Fanvue's message pricing is covered in our Fanvue PPV pricing guide.
What you can delegate under the rules
OnlyFans allows help and keeps the responsibility where it was. Its Terms of Use say: "If you are a Creator and someone else assists you with the operation of your Creator account, this does not affect your legal responsibility. Our relationship is with you, and not with any third-party". Its verification page adds a practical limit: every creator account gets a selfie check on a rolling 45-day cycle, so the person who opened the account has to stay involved.
- Scheduling, captions and organising the content library
- Setting up promotions and free trials you have approved
- Answering messages, within the platform rules
- Running the social accounts that feed the page
- Reports from the statements page
- A pre-post check against the acceptable use policy
- The identity check and the repeat selfie checks
- Being the person the content features
- Legal responsibility for content and for all use of the account
- Tax on the earnings
- The decision about what you will and will not make
- Connecting a chatbot: not permitted on OnlyFans
Fanvue gives delegation its own login. A creator invites a manager by email from Settings, and the help centre says Manager Accounts cannot "access payouts, change the account's email or password, or delete the account". Team members added by the manager see the feed, the messages and a limited Vault, and "cannot publish content on behalf of creators". Fanvue's General Terms also say an account holder must not "Share your password or give access to your Account to others", so the Manager Account is the route to use. What an agency does with that access, how it charges and what a contract should say are in what an OnlyFans agency does.
Doing it yourself or hiring help
The honest test is not how big the account is. It is whether the daily work has outgrown the hours you have, and whether there is an audience arriving to justify paying for cover. Results vary widely and many accounts earn little, so a share of revenue paid to a manager can leave less than doing a smaller job yourself.
If you do manage alone, this is the list I would pin above the desk.
- Next week's posts are uploaded, captioned and scheduled
- Every paid message describes exactly what is inside it
- Any promotion has an end date and a limit on how many fans can claim it
- Every message from the last day has a reply
- Each social account posted at least once, inside that platform's rules
- Pending balance, current balance and any refund or chargeback were checked
- Anyone else in new content is a tagged creator or has a completed release
- AI-altered content of you carries the #ai label OnlyFans asks for
- Two-step authentication is on and the login sessions look right
- The terms and help pages you rely on were skimmed for changes
Where an AI persona fits
Management is the same work for an AI persona, with one difference that comes first: the platform has to accept the account. OnlyFans says AI content may be shared only if "it clearly features the verified Creator", and its creator guide lists "accounts or content that are wholly AI-generated" among content that cannot be shared (help centre, read 13 October 2026; see AI OnlyFans rules). Fanvue's help centre says "AI creators are a fully recognised and verified category on Fanvue", and its Community Guidelines, updated 12 October 2026, require "a clear and prominent disclosure" on all AI-generated media.
On Fanvue the loop above runs with two additions. The media and the bio carry the AI disclosure, and nobody answering messages may tell a fan the persona is a real person. A persona is a fictional adult who reads as an adult, never built from a real person's face, name or likeness without written permission; the law behind that is in is AI adult content legal? Fanvue's chat tools are in Fanvue AI messaging tools and rules, the setup is in how to start an AI model on Fanvue, the platform itself in our Fanvue review, and both platforms side by side on Fanvue vs OnlyFans. The AI Influencers program teaches the whole operation, from the persona to the weekly routine.
OnlyFans management: FAQ
What is OnlyFans management?
OnlyFans management is the recurring work of running a creator account: planning and scheduling posts, setting prices and promotions, answering messages, promoting the page on other platforms, and checking the money and the rules. A creator can do all of it alone, or pay a manager or an agency for parts of it. The platform itself manages nothing for a creator.
Can I manage my OnlyFans account myself?
Yes. Nothing in OnlyFans' rules requires a third party, and its help centre says it "does not work with or endorse any agencies, managers or third parties". Pricing, promotional campaigns, free trials, paid messages, watermarks and payouts are all set from the creator's own account. The limit is time: messaging and promotion are daily jobs, and that is what people hire help for.
What does an OnlyFans manager do?
A manager takes over the repeatable parts of the account: the posting schedule, the promotions calendar, message cover, the social accounts that send people to the page, and a regular report. A manager does not replace the creator in the identity checks or in the content, and cannot take on the legal responsibility, which OnlyFans' terms leave with the creator.
Can someone else run my OnlyFans account?
Someone else can help run it. The Terms of Use, last updated August 2024, say: "If you are a Creator and someone else assists you with the operation of your Creator account, this does not affect your legal responsibility." The creator still passes the selfie checks OnlyFans repeats on a rolling 45-day cycle, and should keep control of the login, the email address and the payout method.
What can I not delegate on OnlyFans?
Four things. The identity check and the repeat selfie checks, because they confirm the person who opened the account. Appearing in the content, because OnlyFans says the majority of an account's content must feature the creator who opened it. Legal responsibility for everything posted and every use of the account. And tax, which OnlyFans says the creator is responsible for paying.
Can I use a chatbot or automation to manage messages?
Not on OnlyFans. Its help centre says it "does not offer an internal AI chatbot tool for Creators", has no public facing API, and that creators "may not directly integrate AI chat bots into the OnlyFans platform". Fanvue builds the tools in: automated messages that fire when a fan follows or subscribes, saved template messages, and AI Messaging that drafts or rewrites a reply for the creator to send.
Is managing a Fanvue account different?
The jobs are the same and more of the tooling is documented. Fanvue's help centre describes a post Queue, a Vault with folders, automatic fan Lists, mass and automated messages, tracking links and AI Messaging, plus Manager Accounts for agencies and managers. Fanvue also accepts AI creators with a clear disclosure, which OnlyFans does not for a wholly AI-generated account.
